Each year, ABC of Iowa hosts an annual construction Craft Championships at the Iowa State Fairgrounds’ Varied Industries Building. The event features apprentices from across Iowa competing for state honors in Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing and Sheet Metal.
Apprentices qualify for the state competition through exemplary scores on a written test. Craft Championship competitors place in the Top 10 of their respective fields’ testing. The first-place winners continue on to the National Craft Championships Competition. First and second place in each category are also awarded tools and other prizes.
